I've been an eBay member since July 05, 2006 and I never encountered any issues with any of my transactions until recently. I purchased on eBay to the newly member with the ID name: jonathan.gumtang, item number 181214655472 and the product is described as; Samsung Galaxy Note II N7105 4G LTE Marble White with the bidding amount of PHP 13,500.00. I bid for the Item last September 12, 2013 at 10:57:52 AM and the seller promised to end the bidding prematurely. Before I bid the item that morning of September 12, me and the seller (Jonathan Gumtang) communicated already through mobile text that night of September 11 and we made an agreement or deal. Since I don't have P13,500 cash to pay him, he agreed that I can pay him in two gives(1st initial payment would be on September 12 and the 2nd full payment would be on September 17). Morning of Sept 12, I paid the initial amount of P7,000 through RCBC(Fuente-Cir Cebu branch) cash card to account name: Nichol Dulay with reference M9795 at 10:46AM which they said is their business partner.
Then shortly after I sent the initial payment, a certain person named Evelyn Gumtang, who introduced herself as the wife of Jonathan Gumtang, texted me that I need to pay the item in full ASAP since they're doing inventory in their shop(in Urdaneta, Pangasinan). Even that's not the deal that I and Jonathan made I agreed to pay the rest of the amount On September 13. So, the following day I transferred the amount of P6,700 (P200 is the shipping fee) thru RCBC (same branch) again to the same account name of Nichol Dulay with reference of M54801 at 12:57PM.
Shortly that afternoon after I made the full payment. A certain person named Sherwin Plarisan texted me if I'm the buyer for the phones; Samsung Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy Y and I curiously replied yes BUT ONLY the Note 2. According. to Sherwin or aka "Erwin", these couple pawned him the two phones; the Samsung Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy Y for the amount of P16,000. He won't give Jonathan the phones not unless "I" settled the money. What turned out is that I'm the one who owes Sherwin the money. These couples Jonathan and Evelyn want me to call Sherwin and settle the issue with him. I even asked for my money or refund but they said there'll be no one to give me back my money. And these couples are not picking up my calls anymore, they would only respond through text.
In the end I was forced to pay an additional amount of P2,300 to Sherwin's BDO card account 6018539063461598 with reference TBBG0718 @ 16:59:13 PM and in return they will shipped both phones(unit). I paid additional in fear that I wont get anything at all in return and they promised that I'll pay the remaining amount and they will shipped both phones.
After all deliberations they said they will shipped the item before the cut off at 7PM thru LBC courier (September 13), they texted me the tracking number after I requested for it but when I checked at LBC, September 14, the tracking number 172689497506 does not exist and if I verify further from these three people they're not replying anymore nor picking up my calls. These people never showed any concern at all or even just a mere apology to the hassle they made.
Shipping will take approximately two days. With the time frame of our conversation it was shipped September 13 at around 7PM. LBC don't have delivery on Sunday so basically if the items were REALLY shipped I'll be receiving it either on Monday (September 16) afternoon.
I faced the worst. I checked at LBC on September 16 and no record showed that there's a transaction made for me. If you check his profile on Ebay he removed all his product listings. He never ended my bid also as what we agreed. I have all the copy of the bank transactions I made. I reported the said member on eBay but to no response. I just feel so helpless.
I googled Sherwin Plarisan and so devastating to find out that he is a scammer/fraud and he is not alone they're group. I'm not his only victim. I don't want this to happen with anyone. I've been a confident buyer online through Ebay and because of the trauma they caused I don't even want to login on my eBay account because of disappointment.
