Scam adverts on Autotrader - today's batch

Usually these are posted on the compromised accounts of dealers. Either the scammer posts photos with instructions to contact the scammer directly to their e-mail account or he puts contact instructions in the wording. I can track and trace either version.

All examples posted here have been reported but there is often a significant delay before they are removed.

Same scam via Autotrader. Car advertised was a VW Polo 2012 1.2 Match. Asking price £3000.00. Same wording used in reply e mail from Andrew Cooper [email protected].

They're a well organised criminal organisation, phishing for autotrader accounts through the week and then posting ads on a Friday for the weekend to catch unwary buyers and when autotrader and dealers will be less likely to do anything about it.

Dealers really need to be more careful as it's their business that's being harmed because their deals won't be able to compete with the scams being posted under their names, and they won't be getting the money either.

Scammers are phishing for ebay accounts too, and there's even a black market in ready-made ebay accounts.
