LegalBEAGLES with the BBC about online vehicle auction fraud (eBay, Gumtree, Autotrader etc).

The piece will be aired nationally on the BBC One Show Monday 17th February 19:00 hrs (edited 6 minute film)

and on BBC South East's Inside Out programme Monday 17th February 19:30 hrs (12 minute film) on BBC iPlayer if you are outside the area.

It also features 3 victims caught out by the Lads.

Not sure how it will have been edited, probably make me look a twonk, but at least it highlights the issue a bit more to the masses (at least for the half hour they're eating their tea).

Watch, enjoy and then take the pi$$, I have broad shoulders ;)

Congratulations on managing that Tools.

It's an issue that the consumer needs to be warned about as it's frightening how easily consumers, companies and banks are duped, and there is no recognition of the scale and scope of this type of fraud. As much as online commerce may be considered a seminal event of the 21st century, allowing it to become overwhelmed by scams and fraudsters will have unpredictable consequence.

Criticism of consumers being so easily duped is misdirection of the blame when there is copious evidence that companies and banks have no answer to the problem themselves. The inevitable result is that companies and banks that are susceptible to fraud will be avoided by consumers and merely attract more scammers. It's simple market forces that will determine this.
