I'm guessing "she" is claiming to be American? Wherever "she" claims to live, the English is poor, and certain phrases and types of mistakes tell me this was written by an African.

This is the type of man I am interested in: cultured, feminine;

This is where the scammer lost track of whether he was pretending to be a man or a woman.

The photos are no doubt professional photos that the scammer copied to use for his scams.

Welcome to ScamWarners Len. There must be something that makes you think this is a scam. Yes, the pictures are a give away. Using tineye.com you can probably find the source of the pictures.

Something that might tip this off as a scam is the awkward wording, though this email doesn't indicate where the writer claims to be. Checking the headers can help you too. At the bottom of the Yahoo window you read is a "button" that says Full Headers. Click on that and to to http://www.iptrackeronline.com/. Put the information in Header Analysis and it will give you some information. Scroll to the bottom to see the information.

If you are not sure, post the headers here and we will look at them for you too.

I notice that ... well, Dotti picked up what I was going to say. Great minds think alike. The scammer got lost in what character he was playing, or did not edit carefully. Either way it is a sure sign of a scammer.

Searching for the first image on tineye showed me much more than I wanted to see.

The woman in the photos is an amateur porn actress who goes by the name of Luna.

From what I saw I would say she is no amateur, very dedicated to her work is a better description.

That writing definitely tells me you are in contact with an African.

As far as the other one "Olivia" goes, we would need to see some of her writing or more of her claims to absolutely confirm, but I will tell you that I lean very strongly toward scammer.
a) those photos are very typical of what scammers like to use. I would not be surprised if it another porn actress/model
b) the person in those photos is definitely NOT 34.

Ok, so now it's confirmed. You have a scammer there. The person you are chatting with is African, not American.

Your guess about the script is right. Scammers often search the internet and copy quotes, lines, poems, and even full love letters for use on their victims. When chatting, they will use some of them in the chat in an attempt to make their characters seem more romantic or more real. Often you can identify the copied materials by the sudden improvement in English.

In this case, the 1st quote contains mistakes and phrasing typical of an African, telling me the scammer wrote it. However, the first line of the 2nd quote is much better, so I expect it is copied. Sure enough, this is what google shows me:

In your vacation discussion, the scammer was setting up for a money request, but based on your response, he backed off because he knows you would probably walk away if he pushed right now. His intention is to wait a bit, then start setting you up for money requests again.
