Hi grjmhegz , welcome to Scamwarners.

As you can see I have edited your post, there are loads of personal details in there that need to be removed so i have removed the content for now.

Just quickly, I am still going through the emails you posted, one thing for certain is that it is a scam.

If your sister is still in touch with these people, that needs to stop immediately, she also needs to be mindful of other scam emails that she will receive, some may offer to be able to get her money back or suggest that these scammers are in custody, please remember, any emails you receive about this will be further scams and will at some point ask for more money to be sent, please, under no circumstances should she reply to any more emails from these people.
by Dotti Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:07 am
Welcome,

I'm sorry to hear that your sister has had to deal with this. And there is no doubt it is a scam. Ralph will be re-posting the emails once your sister's details have been removed, and then those emails will be picked up by google for anyone searching any of the scammer's names in the future.

As Ralph said, when the scammers fail to get money (or stop getting money) one way, they will try again another way. They may pretend to be law enforcement prosecuting the scammers. They may offer some kind of "better" deal for a reduced fee. They may even threaten your sister physically or with claims about charging her with some kind of crime. It's even possible they will send her a check or money order and ask her to cash it and forward money to someone. In the end, these are just more attempts to steal money. She is not guilty of any crime (though she would be if she cashed any of their checks, which will be fraudulent).

A few things stood out at first glance:

-the redirect number (which is no doubt going to Africa or Malaysia)
-the poor English, with mistakes consistent with an African
-the attorney/travel agent. These are two completely different fields--one person would not hold both of these jobs
-the insistence that the visas must be handled in the UK (not true--you would apply in the UK embassy in the Philippines if this were real).

At this point, your sister needs to walk away. Just drop these scammers and don't accept any contact from them. Delete their emails, block their phone calls. Don't tell them they are listed here, or they will change their names and emails and the next victim won't find them here.

To obtain a visa to work in the UK as an au pair or nanny you can only obtain this by going to the British Embassy in your country (or their authorised visa application representative) in person. You cannot do this online and no one can obtain a visa for you.

Everything this person has said to your sister is a lie, and for the purpose of stealing money, and all the people that have mailed your sister are either the same scammer or another one.

If you are asked to pay someone by Western Union you are not dealing with a company or any official government body.

I understand how upsetting this will be for your family but there is no possibilty that this is in any way anything other than a scam, and the scammer will try every means to steal more money from your sister.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK
http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa/
Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer

Hello,
I have liaised with my Mother regarding the Financing of your papers. According to her, she wants me to give you the benefit of doubt and assist in the best way i can to make the processing of your papers a monumental success.
In the light of the above, i have decided to pay for your Work and Resident Permits which are far more expensive than the Visa which is the cheapest.
If you can pay for your Visa, then the processing is good to commence.

Timon

Hello,
I received your mail .Paying for your expenses and then Deducting the money from your Salary is something i will never do again. I have tried it before but the person only succeeded in using me to get her papers and i never saw her again .It is not that i am saying that you are going to do that but i dont want to throw caution to the wind. So that is totally out of the picture .
As much as i would love to assist you in the processing to ensure that you are able to start work as soon as possible, i would want you to look for ways to source for the funds required. I know its quite difficult to secure funds from your country.
You can easily repay the Money in less than a month if you borrowed it from someone as soon as you have started working for me. I want you to understand the situation of things and i urge you not to read a different meaning to this. I trust you but i am just trying to take caution.
If i may ask, if i come up with half of the required expenses, can you come up with the remaining half?
I really want the both of us to have our Money involved so that i can have the guarantee that what happened before would not repeat itself.
Hope this will be ok by you.
Await your advice soon.
Regards,
Timon

I am in receipt of your mail. The processing of your Visa and Permits would have to be done here in the United Kingdom to ensure that the processing is successful and to also ensure that they are finalized at the stipulated time. We have been doing this for a couple of years with high success stories to our Credit.
Once processing is done from this end, your papers would then be forwarded to the British Embassy in Manila for the final stage of the processing to be finalized.
In the British Embassy in Manila, you would be invited for Interview on two occasions.

1) Visa which would be attached to your International Passport.
2) Original Copies of your Permits
3) Original Certified Copy of your Employment Contract
Once these papers have been handed over to you, you would undergo a Medication Examination and then you are fully ready to travel to the United Kingdom depending on the date of departure agreed by both you and your Employer. You would also be required to tender your Police Clearance Certificate before your departure from your country .

Thomas,Male is 5Years ,2 Months Old, Janice, Female is 3 years, 4 months Old and Martin, Male the youngest is a 1year,6 Months Old. They have over time developed a penchant for these bed time stories and i hope you would be a good story teller. I would like to know when you intend to start this Job so that i can direct you to my Lawyer/Traveling agent who be in charge of processing the Visa and Permit and he would also ensure that these papers are finalized within the shortest possible time.

Thanks for the information

I just wanted to point out that it is highly likely that this Timon is also the fake barrister and that either way, both Timon and the barrister are charactors invented by a scammer to assist him to steal peoples money, they do not exist.
