Has someone offered you a huge sum of money or a valuable consignment? It's a 419 or advance fee fraud - find out how they work, and what to do to be safe.

This is a legitimate UK company with UK based personel. If a fraud has occurred then this should be taken up with the UK police/Metropolitan Police, who would investigate this. There is a possiblity of recovery by asset seizure if the fraud is proved. This is a sizeable amount of money, but that isn't the factor, it is the matter of what seems to be criminal activity going on in the UK. I feel enough is said here.

Theres is a "linked in" PROFILE but I didn't get facebook profile. I am having problems with this whole thing. I pointed to the Landmark Company of Africa but seem to hit verifiction troubles over if or not this college really had offices, which is no problem but if a company has an office in a building run by another company why are they not listing it? The Google Earth view is also tricky. I see clearly Number 40, but what is the complex with "Staff Only" at the entrance? is this the Surgery /Health Centre or the College buildings? And what about the Dr's address? The post code is just a few doors up the road maybe, but not if the same address. Am I looking at facts too hard or getting at truths ? I am sure others here can overview what I am doing.
Have you noticed the staff list? Is there anyone there who you could honestly say was English?

I would be looking at having a consult with the police force about this.

Hi Alex, just to check:
You say your brother was not scammed by this college but was introduced to a different scam by a lady working with it, correct?
If so, we really need more information about what happened to your brother:
- text of emails complete with headers
- phone numbers
- addresses
- bank accounts
... the whole lot.
Please convince your brother to co-operate.

Alex99, have you contacted the police? This is a large sum of money and if the parties were in the UK the Police should be very interested in what transpired. I am not in the UK and I don't know the laws there or the system. I would start with going to your local police.

We do have members who are in the UK and may be able to help you with the process. I am not suggesting any guarantee of return of the funds, but it is certainly worth the try.

Alex is is also possible that the Facebook pabe is a fake one set up by scammers to do this very thing. Still as Began Steele says above this should be reported if any of the players are in the UK.

I think you should allow the law to discover this. It is no problem to set it all out and speak to someone in the nick about it. If the website is fake and the UK persons are involved in criminal actions then action would be taken. Involvement in E-crime is very difficult to cover up. There are several recent convictions of Nigerians in UK involved in fraud in Africa and money laundering and jail is certain if convicted.. It may be necessary to visit the places where the college is supposed to be located, and not too difficult just get a view of what is or is not there... I know I havn't dug up anyting substantial so far, and my failures could be because something doesn't exist as said. There are several other ways to discover what is going on, such as speaking to the organisations whose logos are attached to the website by phone. I am sure your brother can do this and to be honest it is not my phone bill, albeit if I was at home I could have made a few short calls. He needs to carry out some background work himself. I did my best with some inspired thinking, but other criminals and potential victims need my attention.

thanks a lot,you have been a great help...my brother has now said he is going to go to the police...but im not convinced he will do so...the scammers have been emailing him again..trying to explain their actions...they said they had been shot and ended up in a coma after transfering money to my brothers bank account
now they say they made a mistake and they werent actually shot after all....i mean you couldnt make this stuff up!!

Of course not and it's all lies again as you know. Brother must act and not discuss what he is doing with the criminals.

I locked this topic because the Original Poster has gutted their posts and this is beginning to lose it's continuity.

If there are questions please send me a PM
