I've got the same scam email :)

Hello,
I live in Wood Green, London and i will like to request for an Au pair or Nanny service for my daughter.
Presently I'm running a part time technical course in Dublin and base on that I need someone very reliable to care for her..
Au pair or Nanny primary responsibility will be to guide her daily activities which includes dropping and picking her up at school and games. Au pair or Nanny will also assist in dry cleaning and ironing whenever necessary.
Since Au pair or Nanny will be her primary guide during the day i will therefore prefer an Au pair or Nanny who can carry out duties without supervision.
Kindly reply if available and please state your present location and your prefer start date if known.
Regards

The last message from this person:

Hi,
Okay do let me know when you find a suitable flat but i'm not sure you will be able to get a flat for max.£60 weekly around wood green unless a decayed apartment which does not exist as well.
Please could you explain this again "I must have written working agreement in order to work in UK legally and to pay the income tax and national insurance, could you advice me than.."
It will be my pleasure if you can arrive by first week of January but do try and be specific about your date so that i can pick you at arrival. More so, note that a weekend date will be most preferred for me.
Waiting to hear your reply.
Susan

I am from EU, I don't need any visa to work in UK, so what they want from me ? Will she recommend me some estate agent to find a flat there? probably
How I could find out their IP addres from email? I use gmail.com Could you advice me? Thank you

Welcome here Surikata.

The answer to your first question is this; the only thing they want from you or any victim is money. The scammer tries to make you believe he can "arrange" all nesessary paperwork including a visa but you have to pay for it. First of all it's impossible to get a visa for someone else and in your case it's not even nesessary but it's in his pre written script. All the other "paperwork" doesn't exsist either. I'm glad you found this forum and recognised the scam.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

Thank you, the header from my gmail client below. I supoose, the there is written only IP of a server (US. server), not sender's IP. So there is no way to find out the country of sender alone. Using another clients like yahoo it's possible, maybee.

It's not because of your client, unfortunately. It's because the scammer was using gmail. Gmail strips the sender's IP address and replaces with their own, so any time you get a message from a gmail account, the headers will point back to Google headquarters.

I am so so so upset about this this same thing happened to me i got past the synergy thing but i sent money to them through greater union i was still going by everything she said until she said she would do the visa but instead i done it i got all the way through every process from the start of this year i cant believe people do this to our lives its hard enough. i at least wasnt stupid enough to allow her to get my visa for me n instead went along n i done it myself. i did however send money for a "background check" i dont understand all this i was still believeing everything this "SUSAN!!!!" lady said and it wasnt till the other day i was looking for her work place on here and this came up i wrote her a very very mad letter and have now stopped all contact with her what i cant understand is she gave me 2 of her numbers i even called her she gave me her passport photo and photo of her and her daughter!! it seemed so real. the synergy thing was a bit fishy but i want her to never do this to anyone again my dreams were ruined although im still going to the uk due to the fact i got my own visa i will definately be very careful on this outrageous! internet and i will only go through one hundred percent agency that are secure!! please anyone who reads this DO NOT!!! n i mean DO NOT!! believe any of the jobs from the website aupair.com please i learnt from that mistake n i hope u all do not have to go through this. I would also like anyone to contact me if they know how i can report her since i have her contactable phone number that i have talked to her on and her current relevant address!!!!!

@annon1

The scammer will be sitting in an internet cafe in Nigeria and has never been to London in their lives. The address details that you have are fake - they will either belong to a previous victim whose identity is being used or have been taken from the internet.

The phone numbers that you rang were probably redirect numbers (starting +44 70) that can be redirected anywhere in the world and the woman you spoke to will be a friend or relative of the scammer.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
