I too have received a couple of emails from Univetsal Training (one as recently as today). I genuinely want a job working with animals and it makes me so angry that someone out there is yrying to make money fraudulently from people trying to either start their working lives or change direction in their working life. I feel angry that these fraud steers can use the phrase 'government backed' and get away with it. I feel angry that job centres around the country are not checking credentials before allowing these people to advertise. There will be many more people who've fallen for this scam than will have actually taken time out to check it for themselves. Many people will have their £95 stolen from them because the company a) says its government backed' and b) promise a well paid job at the end of it.

It's disgusting!

Sorry Sweetpea12 I didn't notice your follow up earlier.

Your post micemmy opens up a can of worms.

Checking at Companies House there is no such company called Home Train Ltd.

The company called Train Ltd is recorded as being dissolved 22 September 2009 and does not exist either.

The website http://www.hometrain.co.uk leads to a website purporting to be operated by an unincorporated company called Universal Trading.

They give their contact details as

Registered Office:
Universal Training UK
145 - 157 St John St
London
EC1V 4PW

The term 'registered office' is meaningless as regards an unincorporated company and it is the home to various mail forwarding services.

There aren't any guaranteed jobs which is why they use the word 'enrol'. The fact that they're having to make the false claim about guaranteed jobs suggests that the training material is likely to be worthless. If it is, you have no means of recourse other than by e-mail or via a mail forwarding service. Reputable training companies don't operate like this.

There is no contact telephone number and a guarantee from an entity that doesn't tell you their telephone number or trading address is worthless.

If they had jobs you'd receive an interview.

<Dear job seeker

You contacted us some time ago and applied for one of the many positions available through the job +plus scheme.

Congratulations if you have now found something and moved forward in your career, but if you are still looking, we actually have the perfect job for you on the job +plus training scheme.

The scheme provides both induction training and a guaranteed job in your field on completion, via ourselves or one of our sponsors. We have exclusive positions throughout london and the South East, with training and an excellent salary. Positions are full time, paid, and a minimum contract of 12 months. Register today and be in full time employment within as little as14 days of completing induction - guaranteed.

Induction training consists of around 15 to 20 hours flexible study, which is completed from home on your pc or by correspondance, at your own pace and convenience. Support is available from your allocated mentor, both during training and the initial few months of employment. We will start offering you suitable jobs within 3 to 5 days of completion of your training, and you may take as long as you wish to accept an offer.

How can we guarantee a job? It's very simple, we work closely with each industry and companies who value both staff and their development. These companies provide us with exclusive positions which we then allocate to scheme members on a one to one basis. The number of members are restricted to the number of jobs we have, so everyone is always guaranteed a place.

To register, you simply need to visit our site, select your career and register:

<http://www.hometrain.co.uk/>

We really hope you will join us on the scheme, you seem an ideal candidate.

Kind regards

Aston Carter

A few months ago I applied for a job (fake) advertised on http://www.direct.gov.uk. Since then I'm getting multiple scam emails that I can't stop, they keep coming and coming. At the beginning I kept receiving emails from “@homecoutiestraining.yolasite.com”, now I am receiving emails (6 already) from [email protected]; [email protected].

These scammers keep giving vague hints that they are some way related to Jobcentreplus.

For instance, information about the company on their website <http://www.hometrain.co.uk/>:

Registered Office:
Jobs Plus UK
145 - 157 St John St
London
EC1V 4PW

So my message is:

Dear Jobseeker,

Please, don’t pay a single penny to scammers. Don't waste your money, because you can’t afford to lose any money.

Good Luck

I'm so glad I found this site! I received the following email below in reply to a job application I'd apparently made entitled "Office Assistant job offer":

Thank you very much for your recent enquiry regarding the job opportunities through the UKCareers job guarantee scheme.

Part of the dwp initiative, the scheme provides all members a guaranteed full time salaried job in the field of their choice including office admin, accounts, care, hospitality, health and early education. The scheme also includes 15 hours fast track induction training from home. To help those changing jobs or returning to work, we also offer a free advance on your first salary if so required.

Induction training consists of around 15 hours flexible study, which is completed from home, at your own pace and convenience. On completion, you are then placed in full time employment in your choice of any of the positions available. Support is available throughout from your allocated mentor.

To check out our jobs, learn more and register on the scheme, simply visit our site :

Register today and start tomorrow. We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

I thought it sounded dodgy so didn't even bother to look up the website - which I did just now and it doesn't exist! Since then I've had a few more emails, each one slightly different with different contact/website details. I'm fairly good at spotting stuff like this - I was approached by a similar company a couple of months ago (age121), who contacted me about a job that I didn't remember applying for (though when you're applying for as many as I am you do tend to lose track) but when I started to ask for more details they started going on about "transferring me to the payment team" at which point I asked for more info by email and it transpired that they were trying to fleece people out of £100s for "training" with no guarantee of a job afterwards!

What kind of horrible person preys on those who are in such desperate situations? :-(

Could you post the emails with full headers? If you're getting email from ukcareers.org.uk, the website is parked, so it's an email-only domain, and we need headers to kill it.
