Some Scammers Tried To Scam To Me!!

Well, I have got a several amount of messages from scammers the last week trying to scam my money. Thanks that before moving away I read your website I knew what it was and I knew how to stop it. They are usually the same, but the last one I have got was quite elaborate. Since I am Spanish my English grammar is not perfect at all so probably it has a lot of mistakes but I can imagine a foreigner believing in this advert.

The bedrooms is large (16’6 x 15’), and comes with an en-suite private bathroom (7’3 x 5’6).It occupies the entire second (top) floor and
offers you a lot of privacy from the rest of the house. It’s a lovely bright room with large South facing windows.There’s a sitting area with a nice sofa so it’s practically a studio.Kitchen (14’6 x 15’) fully fitted kitchen with refrigerator,cooker,washing machine,chest drawers and
microwave oven. Livingroom/Dinningarea (19’8 x 18’).A bright and spacious livingroom/ diningarea,Sofas,tasteful bespoke lighting,double
windows and central heating,broadband internet and LCD.A house of this quality is rarely ever available for house share.(See attached photos)

The rent is very reasonable £290/month/room including Gas,Electricity,internet,council tax etc and fully refundable security deposit of £330.There is free parking (no permit necessary)on the street.Ideally I would only ever consider renting to cool,considerate,congenial and reliable people so you will find your housemates to be so.

I'm flexible and very quiet but friendly,29 years old,Single,Cabin Crew with Easyjet.I'm easy going,down to earth that Love art,theatre,music,sporty and being active.Please let me know as soon as possible if you're still interested.

to my Lawyer.

Since the credit crunch a lot of wannabee tenants end up not serious nor capable of the rent and with that i am convinced that you are
capable of meeting my demands.I will be able to send the key's to him via UPS same day delivery service so that you can view the
apartment together,your money is fully refundable back to you by my lawyer if you don't like my apartment but i can assure you,you will
surely like it.

I have attached my international passport photo page with this email because you will need to print it out and taken with the lease agreement
form to the apartment. I'll need your full name, Scanned copy of ID or Number, Current address and phone number,Move in date, sex and your
date of birth.I need this information's to prepare the tenancy contract so i can send to you.Should you need more clarification, please don’t

The most scary thing is that they send me a copy of a passport, I do not know if this is a real one or a fake but I have sent this email to the Strathclyde Police in case that person does exist and they are using her passport without her know it.

Could you post the full name and email address this scammer was using or a header from one of the emails (with your address removed)? Many people google the email address first, so having that posted may very well save another potential victim.

I´m a spanish boy and im saying to xenia that i´ve received the SAME mails from the same email, but the difference its that the flat is in edinburgh. i´ve sent my personal information and i dont know what can i do. if anybody knows what can i do, please send me a message!!!I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!Thanks!!!

Hello JERLIPO, welcome here.

The first thing you have to do is to stop all contact with them.
Throw away any emails you get from them without even reading them.
If they call you on the phone, hang up as soon as you discover it's them (or, if you recognize them on caller ID, don't pick up the phone at all).

About the information you sent, it depends a bit on what you sent them.
If it's just name, address, phone number, it is usually enough to just ignore them.
If it includes things like a social security number, bank account information, credit card number or even a passport scan or similar sensitive information, you'd best alert your local authorities and explain exactly what happened.
That way, when the scammer abuses your information and it comes back to bite you, you have a story with the authorities that will help you with your defense.
Note though that even if you gave them such information, it is not very likely that they will do things with it that will harm you. But it's better to be safe than sorry in such situations.

The worst that is likely to happen is that you'll get more scams sent to you by e-mail and maybe some scammers ringing you by phone, but as they have to pay to call you they'll soon give up if you keep ignoring them. Scam e-mails ? - we all get them and it's hard to stop them coming unless you keep your address secret, but then no one will ever mail you.
