is this a scam

I am trying to sell my vehicle on craigs list and I did a few things to help stop scammers such as hiding my contact info then at the end of the add I put email me at XXXXXXX@yahoo dot com (will put my email that way not XXXXX but I think you got the idea) I got an email that did throw a few red flags. does this sound like a scam

I just got your message. I will be paying $5000 for the lifted 93 jeep
wrangler yj . Umm.. I will like to know the present condition. I am at
sea at the moment as I am a marine engineer and due to the nature of
my work, visiting of website are restricted but I squeezed out the
time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I will
be paying you through PayPal as I wont be opportuned to pay for it my
self so if you are interested in selling this to me please get back
with the following -Your name and PayPal email address so I can make
the payment as soon as I know the present condition. My private
courier agent will come over and pick it up after payment clears as I
have been dealing with them for years especially when I am on tours.
Don't bother about shipping, no shipping. And please I'm dealing with
trust, so as soon as you get payment you should give a specific
convenient time for you for the pick up to take place without hassles,
as I wont want that.

I'm glad you are doing your research. This is definitely a scam. We have seen this exact same "marine engineer" format pop up under multiple names/emails. Can you post the email address the scammer used with you?

Note that the first email just refers to the "item". It's a sure sign that he's sent the identical email to a large number of advertisers. Probably in the bcc field, so that the recipients don't see any of the email addresses, even their own.
