I'm sorry to hear that you lost money to a scammer.

The best thing you can do at this point is drop him completely. Unfortunately, nothing you do is going to get him arrested. He is in a foreign country, hiding behind a fake identity, probably in an internet cafe. He is out of the jurisdiction of your law enforcement, and they aren't going to pursue any international cooperation for losses under 6 figures.

However, if you post his information (letters, email address, photos used, etc.) you can potentially prevent others being scammed (or help others who are currently being scammed to realize the truth); and in the process, you can make sure he or another scammer misses a few paydays!

Welcome, Tessa, and I'm sorry you were scammed. Please do post his information, as Dotti said.

I'd also like to warn you about recovery scams. Be on the lookout for any emails promising compensation money to scam victims. They are fraudulent, and their only purpose is to steal your money.

You can read more about them here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3198
