Hi there special55,

Yes, it is possible to get a co.uk email adress from anywhere in the world, it is definately not a guarantee that the owner of that adress is based in the United Kingdom. I have done a search on the email adress you listed and found the following on another site:
Name: robert cross
Email: [email protected]
Comments:
Says he's 50years old, a drilling engineer, based in leicester uk but on contract to work in Nigeria for 6weeks.

I'm fairly sure that you'll recognise the story (details may vary), it is a textbook scammer. I strongly advise to stop all communication you have with him.

Hi Special55
Thanks for posting because others will now be wary and avoid the individual.
This guy is now on Girls Date For Free.
The scammer also uses the name Curtis Borden.

It would be easy for me to check him out.

I'm not only living in the UK but my house is about four miles from Leicester and the Clock Tower (he'll know what that is).

If he's real, he'll be interested if you know someone from his home town (city actually). If he's an imposter, he'll start making excuses.

Did he go to ANBS ? He'll know their colours even if he didn't. :D They were unmissable.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK

Welcome Hollyanne,

I'm sorry you were also scammed by this thief. At this point, it is best if you take strong measures to cut all contact. Block him from your messenger, and set your email to filter anything from him to trash. Do not answer any phone calls from him (or just let calls from any unknown number go to voicemail).

These scammers use scripts--a series of prewritten emails that they use on many women at the same time. Even when they change fake names, they often continue to use the same scripts. He is very likely using the same scripts under other names, so you can help warn others and reduce his odds of getting money from others by posting some of his early emails, and any emails asking for money. It would also help if you post his phone numbers and any other emails he used. If you do post these things, just make sure you receive any of your personal information (your name and email address) first.
