It's a 100% scam, and that's before I look at it in any great depth.

The telling part is where it mentions

.......using your own personal checking account for these purposes

You pass his counterfeit cheques through your bank account and pay him cash for the worthless rubbish, leaving you to repay your bank and try to explain to the police why you're passing counterfeit paper. In the USA it isn't actually the police who deal with people who pass counterfeit paper - it's the Secret Service, and you don't want to be messing with them.

This is a fictional company because real companies have their own bank accounts and undoubtedly he'll ask you to pay the money to a private individual by Western Union, but he's holding back on all these details until he's got you hooked.

Notice how vague he is about what the job is, and yet is very specific about all the money you'll earn. Scammers are very generous employers because you'll never earn a cent.

You wouldn't expect a company to use a free mail account and the claim that they can't accept foreign payments is drivel as they would therefore be trading illegally in that case, and involving you in a criminal enterprise if what he said were true. There is no such thing as a job where you collect payments for someone else through your bank account. What he really wants is to run up a debt on your bank account.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK

Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer
