Hi mods,

I've just been reliving a scam in another post and now I've read about the common giveaway signs, I think this guy was a potential scammer too?

What do you think?

His first email went like this :

Hello ****,
Thanks for the mail you sent( I think I like what I saw.. lol ) and after I painstakingly read your profile with what you wrote, I found it very interesting and I feel I should email you. I really like your profile; I like all you did say. I don't know you, but I feel this is a chance for us to know each other better. I’m a Geology Geographer and I work as a geographic expedition to discover mineral resources such diamond, Gold etc... I’m 5`11" and an athletic build, physically fit, a bunch of laughs, warm, caring, honest, good listening, God Fearing, and a positive person. Also, I am real easy person to talk to and a good listener. I’m Caucasian born in Worthing {SUSSEX UK} but I grew up in Falkland Island in South America which makes me have an accent.
A loving and handsome man that is what I am. I will always respect a woman for who she is, her potentials and not what she has. I am a down to earth man who has his head on his neck. Do you know that it takes a lot before I sit down by my lap top and email someone? You have to be special, are you? Since I divorced my ex wife on what she did to me by sleeping with my friend in my house and I have never dated anyone since then not just that I don’t see woman that across my path but some don’t have the quality that I needed. I want a reliable, serious minded, honest, fun to be with and faithfully woman who is ready for long term relationship.
I am a very emotional and compassionate person, may be because I was brought up in a different way from most kids while growing up. Yes, I was raised by my foster mom. People either move me inside or they do not. Like I said in my profile I want to love and be loved not like my last relationship with my ex wife that I loved and she didn’t love me. I need a romantic woman who is willing to give me all her love for the right reasons and who is ready to settle down. Anything short of that will not be entertained. I will like us to be friends first establish a connection and get together. I guess that is what this is all about. I will be hoping a truly genuine woman, who is ready for what I have to give and give me back in return what I deserve. Probably a woman of my dreams.
If I may ask you question? What turns you on in a man? Your favourite colour? Your hobby, what you do for living and many more? Also you are free to ask me any questions you wish of. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.
David

I didnt communicate with this guy for long as I didnt like his style, but would like to warn other potential victims by posting his pic, if you think he is a scammer.

Regards :)

Your intuition was correct, he is definitely a scammer. In fact, this message has pretty much every single clue we look for.

You'll notice he explain away his accent, gives a reason for being out of the country, and asks lots of questions to get you talking. What he doesn't do, is say anything specific about your profile which shows he's mailing the same message to any lady he can find (some scammers will personalise their messages. so that's not a sure-fire sign.)

Thank you for posting this.

Thanks Dan. I dont think he'll get very far if he uses that script all the time. It's not that I thought he was a scammer at the time (I'm only now discovering how rife this scam is on dating sites), only that I thought he was over the top and and didnt sound sincere to me.

Anyway, just in case another lady is taken in by his 'charm'. Here is another email he sent. He even inserted my name in this one......lol.....and note how he answers questions at the end of the 'script':-

Hi ****,
Thank so much for response and I was glad to read from you.Do you know that you sounded like all I wanted and I hope you will be? And sorry that I could not responded to your mail on time I was very busy with my paper work on the contract that need to be done offshore since all while.****,I am serious about wanting to establish a quality friendship with you, and because of the fact I rarely contact anyone on here, so when I do you can be rest assured that I am serious about my intentions...
Am looking for a woman that will be able to listen to me, communicate her feelings to me, make me laugh, hold and comfort me in need, stand by my side, respect me, passionate love in every way, support me in every way, love me and only me, make me smile, protect me when needed, romantic time to time, constantly creative, and treat me right which I will do same in return for her or more than.... I know you will think what is a man like me doing on here? Yes the reason I came on to the internet to find the special person who deserves all the love and passion that makes up my heart and soul from God. Do you believe in God? Also, I do not have the time to meet others out in a public setting due to my work since I divorced my wife. I’m a Geology geographer and I’m into geographic expedition to discover Mineral resources such as diamond, gold e.t.c I have worked with Global Gem Ltd, Gold Mining, Botswana Govt and many Africa countries.
For you to get a better understanding of me just picture a waterfall in your mind and instead of all the water overflowing it is all the love and passion I have in my heart to give to others who deserve, as the love and passion has an endless flow coming out of my heart. Where others write many people and keep their messages short because they are all about how many they can write, I am the opposite and very selective in woman whom I choose to go out with and I like to give them my very best even if it is in a long letter such as this or see each other.
Take care and answer to your questions; What language do you speak in the Falklands? The official language is English while many local languages but people speak English
Have you been in England long? I do come and leave but I have lived for the past 5 years.
Where do you go and find mineral sources? Anywhere my work take me to but we do have expedition in Asia and Africa that is where many naturally resources are

Check this out this guy David James is now on BP black planet. YES I BELIEVE HE IS A SCAMMER/SPAMMER
How do I post a pic of him here for those to know what he is using now.

Because the pic I see of a Caucasian, he is not using that now. Not what I have. But the same romantic presentation and mess. Thank God for giving me smarts. I landed here because in the letter he sent I wrote down the Global mess etc. Google it and there his name was clear as day that he is a SCAMMER! So I want to post his picture he's using now.

Somebody Please REPLY ASAP.
