BEWARE of any unsolicited email with the sender's name showing as 'REV. REV.MIKE DAVIS' [sic - the 'REV.' part actually appears twice, seemingly a typing error], and with the subject line 'Am Very Sorry For The Delay To Your Payment'. Such an email may arrive to your SPAM / junk mail folder. Do not open any such email, just delete it.

Before deleting such an email that arrived to my SPAM mail folder, I copied / pasted that sender's name and subject line, and ran a web search, which revealed that the name REV.MIKE DAVIS has been documented elsewhere on the web as an email scam claiming to be the Director, International Telex Department, Central Bank of Nigeria. That alone is a dead giveaway for an email scam, but for what it's worth, it's an alleged 'CONFIDENTIAL DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY PAYMENT' fraud. Reports elsewhere on the web indicate that this email scam was operating as early as July 2010. BEWARE of this low life scammer, they are still operating.

Hi Michael

There is a good reason why I personally didn't include an email address or email text for this particular scam alert, and that is because I did not open the email. I saw it sitting at my SPAM folder, read the sender / subject line details [REV.MIKE DAVIS / 'Am Very Sorry For The Delay To Your Payment' ], and instantly recognized it as a scam email. I did not open the email, as opening such emails of course normally alerts the sender, prompting them to send more such emails. I decide then to report what little details of the scam possible without opening the email.

Nonetheless, I did find a report of this exact email scam at similar information sources elsewhere on the web, and found the following sample scam email, complete with sender / reply email addresses :

From: "service" <[email protected]>
Reply-To: [email protected]
Date: Wed, 28 Jul 2010

I did not open the email, as opening such emails of course normally alerts the sender, prompting them to send more such emails.

No need to worry about that, really. 99,9% of these scam mails are just plain text, I have yet to see the first that sends back notifications. These mails are being sent out by the thousands, they really aren't going to go through hundreds of notifications to filter out the people that opened it. They are only interested in people that actually reply to them. If someone opened it and didn't reply, it's a pointer that they aren't falling for the story, and the scammers certainly aren't going to waste their time with people they can't trick.
