Has someone offered you a huge sum of money or a valuable consignment? It's a 419 or advance fee fraud - find out how they work, and what to do to be safe.

Hi, not sure whether i am being scammed or not. id like some advice preferably in private.
Basically i met a gentleman online, his whole life story seems very devastating. I know he has lied to me and sent me fake photos. he gets very defensive when i approach the topic. he has not asked for money however he was very quick to tell me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. cant find any evidence he is legit. never met him.

anyway im very confused and would like some advice as i cant talk to my family about this as he hasnt done anything wrong and i may just be paranoid.

Hi ConfusedBlonde,

feel free to PM myself or any of the ( btw very professional !!!! ) site moderators at any time, and we will endeavour to assist you with this.
Obviously I cannot pass judgement without further more detailed info, but what you have written does have some hallmarks of a POSSIBLE scamming attempt. Either way, I think it is important for you to have this checked out more thoroughly in order to avoid nasty problems down the line.
Always happy to assist if I can.

Welcome to Scamwarners.
Lying and using fake photos certainly says romance scam to me. Not having asked for money yet means nothing as some scammers wait weeks before doing so.
Feek free to PM me or any "staff" member with details.
