Hello
I hope that someone can help or give some advice.
I'm from Russia and I fell in love with one american/swedish guy. By chance I found this site and after reading numerous posts I realized that he could be a scammer. Hope someone will help me to know this))
7 months ago he wrote to my friend on Skype. She doesn't know English so I began to chat with him. We sent our photos to each other. He is so handsome...with full lips...light short hair. In some pics (names of Photos:"don't like me like my car") he was sitting near/in rather expensive car in jeans and a white jacket. In others he is in his room or on the balcony drinking beer (names: "see my capacity" or "in boxers"). All the time he asked me to install 'teamviever'!!! coz his boss didn't let him use Skype in the office. He told he was born in Sweden...then moved to NY...and is working now as a software engineer in Baltimore in SABA Software. I checked it. I found this company and one of its offices is in Baltimore. Also according to his words he opened a hotel in Denver (!!!within 2 months - he decided to open it in Denver coz I gave him this idea!!!) I just couldn't understand why he told me all these coz he didn't know me....I was a stranger for him....a young girl from another country. He told me about his life, friends, work. He was too kind...too sweet..sent me his poems or some songs or some inspirational video...tried to participate in my life...wanted to know everything about me. Every time at the end of our conversations he wished me so many beautiful things (like: kisses and hugs for u/ keep smiling/ sleep well/ miss u/ ya tebya lublu(I love u)/ sweetheart/ dear/ honey and many others). And every time when he called me I could hear him so badly or he was speaking in a very low voice....and his cam never worked...so I could never see him in real. How a software engineer is not able to fix his cam or buy a new one??????? And then he told he was going to his company conference in St. Petersburg in February '11. He wanted me to come to Spb too. Oh....he also told he had a russian girlfriend - Natasha. He loved her so much...but she left him and since that time he had been looking for a real love and finally found it i.e. me)) I really wanted to come to St. P. to see him. But I had to know and to see the man whom I was going to meet. I was afraid of him a bit...coz he could turn out to be a maniac or smth like that. So I began to ask him direct questions to get a confirmation that he was a real man....but no answers followed....he was pretending not to notice them....he avoided answering every time. And then I decided to delete him. It was too difficult for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!Since that moment I've been looking for him throughout the Internet. I found noone. There are different guys with such a name. On Valentine's day I wrote him. There was no answer. Before he had given me his email. Having this I found one advertisement given by him (he is selling fresh payday leads) and there's one more his email.
Is it a scam???
If someone can help....I will tell his name...the 2 emails...and all the information I know about him.
Thanks in advance)

Welcome to Scamwarners Nicole.

Your English is very good, and I'm not accusing you of anything by saying that. It's just that many scammers prefer foreign victims who may not notice poor spelling and grammar, but you should notice that sort of thing. It's one reaon why scammers often say that they have dual nationality to excuse any errors or unusual word usage.

I looked up - Teamviewer

TeamViewer - the All-In-One Solution for
Remote Access and Support over the Internet

TeamViewer connects to any PC or server around the world within a few seconds. You can remote control your partner's PC as if you were sitting right in front of it. Find out why more than 100 million users trust TeamViewer!

That's a very big warning sign and very sensible that you didn't do it. It also sounds strange that he tells you what a rich and powerful person he is, then is too scared of his boss to use skype at work.

He isn't being honest with you, and anyone trying to get remote control of your pc without mentioning the significance, cannot be trusted. If he's such a 'big shot' he can use an i pad or blackberry which would be quite normal for an average person to own and would mean he could easily be in video contact with you.

It's the most normal thing in the world to ask to see him speaking, unless he's hiding something and TeamViewer won't enable you to do that, but it will enable him to view everything on your pc, including bank logins and passwords - so be very cautious.

GomerPyle....great thnx for your reply)))

You are right about everything!!! I asked him to use ICQ to chat and he refused. Telling the truth....at the very beginning I didn't believe him...but then I changed my mind. I started to believe everything till the moment I was going to buy tickets(((((

Well...pity...feel so disappointed...coz I didn't think that people can do such things....can tell so true-to-life stories(((((((((

Certainly don't spend any money on him at all.

If he can't show his face on a video link it would be a very bad mistake to spend money chasing after him.

What presents has he sent to you ? :D A romantic man who is wealthy and has the sort of affection you expect would send a plane ticket to you, after flowers and presents.

It's very difficult to spot a scammer online and you must not allow yourself to be innocent and gullible otherwise you will a very easy victim. If he is the right man he will be happy to respond to any reasonable request you make. Tell him you'll still love him even if he's very ugly. :D

There are many evil people who have hurt innocent people and they do it to steal money.

Well...once he told he wanted to make a present for one russian girl (maybe he meant me?) and wanted me to help him...to buy this present on some russian site coz it will be more convenient. But I never shop online in the Internet so he never asked me anymore.

As for writing him...now I see no sense in doing this. The best way is just to forget. Hope...my example as many others on this site will help other girls not to become a victim and not to believe such guys)))

Thank you once again for your prompt reply))))

My best wishes to you)))))
