i meet this person on dating site called Badoo, we have been chatting almost everyday, one day he wanted my address so that he can send a present to me, and thats what he said to me:

Since there was no time to contact you any longer for your bank account details to do a bank transaction, i have no options than to sealed the money in the same pack with those items as promised because i cannot travel to offhore with cash and i will be coming from offhore direct to meet you

Hello tsatsantsa2011 and welcome to ScamWarners. I'm very sorry to tell you that this man is a scammer, but I'm glad you came here for help. The courier website that he told you to visit is a fake. They claim to have been in business since 2001, but their site is less that two months old (and I'm sure that it will be reported by one of the people here who investigates fake sites). Also, his phone number is a redirect number, which means that even though it looks like it is from the United Kingdom, it could actually be from anywhere in the world, and in this case I would guess West Africa. Has the courier company asked you for any money for shipping fees or anything else? If not, I'm sure it will happen soon. Please do not send any money, there is no package and the courier company and the man you've been chatting with are almost certainly the same person, or possibly members of the same gang. I hope that this was helpful and if you have any questions please ask.

As Guenther has said, this is a scam.

This is a very common approach with a romance scam, and it always leads to demands for money for the package (which as already stated, doesn't exist). The scammers are using this approach on so many women that they have even created the fake shipping site to make it seem more real. There will be fake tracking information in the site, and then something will happen--most likely the package will get stuck in customs because something wasn't declared properly -- then, you will be told that you need to pay money to get the package released.

In this topic, you can see discussion of another fake shipping website, used in for another scam of exactly the same type.
