Well, my whole bank situation has thankfully been cleared up.

When I was at the bank today, one of the bankers on staff told me about some European bank called Coutts Bank. He said they are a viable bank that gives out loans (my bank has stopped giving signature student loans because of the US "credit crisis"). I haven't found any info on them but I think it odd that a representative from our bank would recommend them.

Does anyone know anything about this Coutts Bank?

We don't give financial advice, or recommend lenders, but I know of them. http://www.coutts.com. It was a UK private bank (but now part of the Royal Bank of Scotland). It only caters to the rich and famous though. Wikipedia says here that you need at least £500,000 to bank with them. Sorry, but they aren't a bank that gives loans to students, and I can only think your bank was joking.

I am glad to hear that you bank has helped you.

As Mr Tamberine Man suggested, we can not give you financial advice, we are simply not qualified to do so.

If you believe that the people you are dealing with may be scammers then please feel free to ask.

Perhaps if it is a student loan you want you should be seeking the advice from a student body who may be able to give you more relevant advice.

I am sure the official line should be to seek professional advice on any matters you are not completely sure about

Just be sure your dealing with the real bank (site) I killed one and they have used this bank before for their profit. Always check if you're dealing with the real thing I would say.

Searching the Database of fraudulent sites kept by Artists Against 419 is a good way to do some research. I would like to point out, however, that just because a site doesn't show up in that database does NOT mean it is legitimate. In fact, many fraudulent sites have been added to the database after they have been brought to our attention by victims here at ScamWarners.
Anyone who has concerns about whether or not they are dealing with a legitimate site or not is encouraged to do research and to ask here.
