Ciao Chiara,

hai ragione - you are right, it definitely is a scam. I had a look at the phone number, and that was proof enough.

00447035904602

It is one of the notorious 00 44 70 ... numbers which are not British at all. It is a redirect number which can lead to a phone in any part of the world.

The language of the email is neither British nor US American, but West African.

Good luck finding a genuine appartment e tanti saluti
Katharina

Edit to add: Scammers will tell you that they are abroad and cant show you the appartment. They will either ask you to send them a deposit, or they will want you to "prove that you can pay" by sending money to a friend and send them a scanned copy of the payment document, both via Western Union - always a big warning flag!

In both cases your money will be gone; they can use the copy of the payment slip to cash the money before your friend makes it to the Western Union office.
