Hi Team,

I'm new to this forum and just wanted to post a mail communication that looks mostly like scam.
Experts, please advice.

happened to see iphone 4 for sale add in CL and inquired and a mail came from a person who said he can give at 50% of market price. I was just inquiring about the payment, return options etc. but he was not answering fine to me and that too the english he used was with lot of grammar mistakes and no meaningful sentences most of the time.

All of a sudden got an email from ""Freight Co. [[email protected]]" saying that the product is shipped to the address i have given wanted me to pay XXX$ via western union. I was completely not ok with it and asked the sender how can i trust this. That guy replied back saying he is using that shipping service for over 3 years and no problem..

But i just cant believe exchanging money that has definite value with something that is not inspected by me.
The website that sent me the mail for the first time on the item despatchment is "http://freight-co.x10.mx "

I have not got back to them after sometime and a mail came from the seller saying he has spent money in getting that item shipped, so i will need to be actioning on them else he will report to police.

Hello everoptimist and welcome to scamwarners!

On an initial look at that site and it's registration I think it is real.

HOWEVER you are most certainly communicating with a scammer. They are emailing you with a consultant.com address which is a free email address and not the same as the domain name. Their email address would look like this E-mail [email protected]. The scammer is just using the legit website to look official.

The sending money via Western Union is tell tell as well not to mention how they just shipped your order and it's half the normal price all scream scam. If it's too good to be true it usually is.

Just ignore the scammers and they will go away. It would be great if you could post the scammers emails here so others searching can find this thread. Please post the emails with full headers removing your information. If you not sure how to find email headers this link should help.

Sad truth is little can be done. The scammers are typically in West Africa. The free email addresses are almost impossible to trace and more than likely opened with fake information. Everything he told you is made up so you have no idea who he really is.

So the best thing to do is post all the information here so others can find this information and hopefully avoid being scammed as well.

I've taken a look at the website and it's a definate fake. It's a pretty convincing one, too. The fake Verisign logo is of a high quality but is fake nonetheless. I will list the site with our site killers which will take it offline as soon as they get the chance :D
