Hi all... First I need to say that I, and other people involved, am somewhat afraid and I am leery of saying to much publicly. But we need to figure out what steps to take to stop a scam on a social network.

I belong to a large "group" of people on a social network. One person has started a supposed charitable foundation for "their" causes. Some of us have figured out that these so called causes are false. We have also figured out that this person is not who they say they are. We have figured out who they are, where they live etc. I don't want to go into to much detail but suffice it to say that it is despicable and unsuspecting, trusting people are sending this person money. Online.

There are 4 of us trying to figure out how to go about stopping this person. Their reach appears to be far and wide. They have quite the following. And like I said before we are a bit scared.

One person suggested the IRS another the FBI and of course the social network. We have been keeping quiet for awhile as we collected information. We have copied everything we can.

I guess what I need to know is where to go from here. Who do we contact etc.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to ScamWarners Ditto. This forum is very much alive. You posted once, then posted 4 or so hours later. I believe the reason this topic has not gotten any traffic is because it is beyond the scope of what we do here at ScamWarners.

While we do present information about scammers who are on Facebook, it is because they are connected with an email AFF scam. Please read to find out what we do and what we do not do here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15

We welcome your participation within the parameters of our mission.

Rest in Peace 24 June 2015.
