Good morning, I also received this scam this morning, I was surprised at finding it was a real company after searching, these people are getting very clever with their scams. What can a person do to get them reported, found and prosecuted or is that impossible

Welcome to Scamwarners. Clifford Chance is as you say genuine, and nothing to do with the scam. It's not unusual for a scammer to to claim to be from a real business.
This particular scammer "honoured" us with a visit last month. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2015&p=8707#p8707.
Niogerian scammers working out of Internet cafes are virtually impossible to arrest. The local police aren't interested. And neither are the victims' local police. Not a criticism as they don't have the resources to devote to criminals they have little chance of catching.

Scammers often try to add legitimacy to their scam attempts by using real businesses, an example here;

Hi Shibumi

I am happy to see you have found us before losing any money, as the others have suggested, cathcing these criminals is not as easy as we would like to think, thier communities allow it to thrive and laws and resources make arrests near impossible, they do happen from time to time, but all so rare.

What we can do is make sure we post as much information as we can, make their scripts and email addresses public in hope that potential victims find it and spread the word about scams and wait for them to make mistakes that can lead to their arrests.
