please tell if this a scam or not because they are not asking for money or personal info they are also not leaving any contact info so how do i know what to do.

Welcome robertbenninger! This is definitely a scam - the US Dept of Homeland Security would NEVER use a free email address (gmail in this case) for any official business. Also, they are requesting a payment: this text appears in the original email posted by Arnold:

the only fee to be paid by you is just US$690

Your best course of action is to ignore this email entirely - the "contract/inheritance payment" does not exist.

If you have begun to correspond with them, please stop immediately and ignore any subsequent replies.

thank you it seemed to good to be true but the lady was saying the money was coming out of the lump some and i just lost several close relatives who where over seas for homeland security so it was hard to think the life insurance i have coming would be a scam and it didn't come from this lady it was from a sarah something with a .gov.org address but the letter i received was nearly identical to this one thanks again for the heads up god bless you
