Welcome to Scamwarners.
It's a scam, and the employer and job don't exist. The wording is typical of an employment scam, and the request for a payment by Western Union or Moneygram leaves no doubt whatsoever that it's a scam.
Can you post the email from the "employer", and the "lawyer's" email address please. Without your name and email address. And who were you told to send the payment to?

Dear David

How are you today?

I received an email from Barrister Peters about the procession of your traveling papers down to UK. You have to proceed to fill the necessary forms given by my Barrister and also follow procedures in this regard.

The proof of sufficient fund is your money that is the reason the proof of sufficient fund/ workers card of 455gbp is meant to be deposited through western union or money gram using your name as the receiver and your parents/siblings/friends name as the sender from your country of resident, so that on your arrival to the UK you will withdraw the fund. You have to read carefully the documents given to you by the Barrister Richard so that you will not make any mistake or error.

The proof of sufficient fund is to show that you are financially capable to live and work in the UK. It also shows that you are not coming to UK to be a liability to the UK Government its citizens and also to me as your employer. It also shows that you can be able to take care of yourself for at least one month before your first month salary here in UK. This proof of fund is your money that is the reason the deposit is meant to be made using your name as the receiver so that you can be able to withdraw it on your arrival to UK.

You have to immediately proceed and inform me as soon as you send the documents to Barrister Peters.

Bye and We love you.

Dariya
this is the explanation why I need to transfer money using my name as receiver and one of my family's name as sender..is this a scam/

Yes, it is a scam. When money is transferred by Western Union or MoneyGram, the scammer can collect and steal this money himself, using the details on the transfer receipt, regardless of which name or which country the transfer is made to.

In reality, if you are applying for a visa for the UK, the application must be made by yourself, at the UK Embassy, Consulate, or Visa Application Centre in your own country. The visa application will require a 'proof of maintenance', but this is NEVER proven by a Western Union or MoneyGram transfer. Instead, you must include a bank or building society statement, a building society pass book, or a letter from your bank with your visa application. You can see examples of the rules about this here:

Yes its a scam. My sister in law in the Philippines has received the same letter asking for 655GBP's with the promise of a job. I checked out the address and it is an attorneys office but they are all East Indian. There is no Brad Peters at the firm.

Scammers do prey on people's desire for a better life. To obtain a visa, it is necessary to go directly to the Embassy of that country. Barristers do not do this. Do not send money to anyone who claims to be able to get you a job or a work visa.
