Hello. My younger brothers wedding and my birthday is on the Saturday 14th of April 2012. Can you make a lovely wedding cake for him and a cool birthday cake for me. I saw some samples on the web and I attached them with this mail. Can you make those 2cakes, if yes how much would it cost? I will arrange for a private carrier to come get the cake from your place at about 1pm on the event day. Get back to me soon so I can arrange for the payment today before I travel back to Texas later today.

Attached to this email were two photos of the cakes he wanted which were viewable in the main body of the email and although we clicked on them they did not redirect us to an external web address - after we did a quote he has been repeatedly asking if he can pay via bank transfer? is this safe here are a few of the other emails.

HI Kirsty.. I want the tiers exactly the same number as shown in the picture. I can't say precsiely how many people would be feeding on the party cake.. Just make them fairly big.. I would prefer to pay via bank deposits. Is that possible?

The wedding reception would be held in my big compound in London.. I can arrange for you to be picked from your office with the cakes.. The price is okay by me. Thats about £925 right.. Can I pay via bank deposits? Do write me an invoice to pay with. Full name is ROBERT JOHNSON.. Address is 23 Whitechapel High St UK E1 7RA

I prefer paying via bank deposits.. is that possible?

Numbers of the form 44-70x-* are redirect numbers; the phone is probably not in England but in West Africa. This sounds like a typical stolen credit card scam, except that he's paying with a stolen bank account instead of a stolen credit card. He'll want the private carrier paid by Western Union or the like, and you'll be out the payment he sent, which will bounce.

Could you post the headers of the emails (including Received: as well as the sender's address)?

This stinks to high heaven. If you post the headers of the email it will help confirm it, but I am 99.99% sure this is a scam. I'm betting he will ask for your bank account information soon, to facilitate the transfer.

My advice, dump this guy and just send him a simple "not interested" and never talk to him again.
