I just recently received an email from an purported State Dept. "Diplomat" by the name of Richard Harry whose email address is: [email protected]. Said diplomat stated I was the benificiary of an :laugh-s: amount of money and that he was presently at JFK International Airport waiting me to email proof of identity for delivery of this (pkg.) to my physical address! The ph.no. given is a new york exchange, which I did call, and which was answered by Mr. Harry at 7:30 am this morning. Does any body know of this particular scam?
Thanks  b1lg2x1

Hi Helen: Am not sure how to post all the information regarding the "e-mail" I received...but did retain a copy of it. If someone would tell me how to post it, I will. I'm sure it is a scam even though they did not ask for any money. They seemed interested in obtaining a copy of my I.D., address, phone no., and occupation for "verification purposes" in order to confirm my identity and deliver my "package" (money) personally!
Please post a reply and I will follow your instructions on how to post this particular email. Thanks. b1lg2x1

P.S.
Yes, that was an exact copy of the email I received! And to think I was already spending some of those 8 million
dollars! :( Thanks for the heads --up!

Hello again, b1lg2x1!

Just copy the email and paste it into the reply box.

They wouldn't start with asking for money. First the scammer needs to get you interested and then "hooked". Then, when you're ready for the delivery, there would suddenly be fees involved, for documents or whatever reason. :D
