Has someone offered you a huge sum of money or a valuable consignment? It's a 419 or advance fee fraud - find out how they work, and what to do to be safe.

The scammer who sent this email is in Johannesburg, South Africa, not London. He is not "Mr Ebony Jackson". This rather ordinary advanced fee fraud (419) email uses the scenario of the dying, repentant, rich man looking to offload his wealth onto a complete stranger for charitable purposes. Yes it is 100% scam. "Mr Ebony Jackson" will soon pass his victims off onto a fake lawyer/barrister (also the same scammer) who will demand various fees from the victim before processing the will of the now convniently dead Ebony Jackson. There is no will. There are no millions of dollars.

Hello Dear,

How are you and the family? This mail may come to you as a surprise due to the fact that we have not yet met. I have to say that I have no intentions of causing you any pains. As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me because I believe everyone will die someday. My name is Ebony Jackson Jr, a merchant in London, Uk.
I have been diagnosed with prostate and esophageal cancer that was discovered very late due to my laxity in caring for my health. It has defiled all form of medicine and right now, I have only about a few months to live according to medical experts. I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone not even myself but my business.
Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focus on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it. Now that I know my time is near, I have willed and given most of my properties and assets to my immediate and extended family members and as well as a few close friends.
I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in usa, U.A.E, London and Ireland . Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this my self any more. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and donate the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria , they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them.
The last of my money which is the huge cash deposit that I have with a financial institute abroad .I will want you to help me collect this deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations. I am writing this from my laptop computer in my bedroom where I wait for my time to come. I pray that God uses you to support and assist me with good heart, thanks and looking forward to hear from you. Please you can contact me on my personal email address : [email protected]

Have a nice day.
Regards,
Mr.Ebony Jackson.

The next scripted response from this criminal. You'll notice that that the scammer did not reply from the email address: [email protected] given in the post above. It is a common scam tactic to frequently switch emails. The scammer is using the UK telephone redirect service prefix +4470 (+447024012911). This service will redirect the call to anywhere in the world and is used almost entirely by scammers. It gives the impression that "Clancy George" is in the UK but he's likely to be in Johannesburg. The same telephone number has already been listed at two anti-scamming websites here and here.

Hello,

Compliments of the day and how are you? I am in receipt of your mail and I really thank you for your concern. My message may have come to you as a surprise due to the fact that we have not yet met. I have to say that I have no intentions of causing you any pains. As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me because I believe everyone will die someday. My name is Ebony Jackson Jr, a merchant in London, Uk.

The reason why am asking for your help is because my friends and family members who I believed in so much have failed me and with their behavior presently, it's obvious they don't want me because of my health condition, I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and donate the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria , they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them.

First Of all I have to brief you on some important issues before we may proceed, this money is been secured in a financial institute in Johannesburg by my very self some years back when i was into gold trade between south africa and the uk and none of my family member knows about it.

The reason why I need your assistance is because of my health conditions at this very stage which will not allow me to do it myself, so I need you to be the beneficiary of the funds after my personal attorney must have acquired a change of ownership/deposit certificate from the London High Court of Justice and sent to you, then I will authorize the Security Company to release the fund to you. I guess you are asking why i dont ask my lawyer to help, its because he lives here in the UK and i dont want my family influence on him.

The total sum of money that is currently with the Security Company is $6.5 Million USD and I will offer you 30% and I will want you to disburse the rest to some organizations that stands for the needy, less privilege, orphans etc. I am writing this from my laptop computer in my room where I wait for my time to come. I pray that God uses you to support and assist me with good heart

I hope the offer is of mutual benefit for your effort and assistance to me? I don’t know what will happen the next minute because my health situation is unpredictable and I am going for another major surgery shortly and my doctor told me that my chances are 20:80 it means that my chances of surviving are low, so I will want to know how serious you're about this because time is not on my side. Please send your full names, residential address, direct phone number (cell) to my Lawyer here in london with the details below so that my attorney will do the change of ownership/deposit without those information, nothing to back up the transfer can be obtained since I am really down now .

Contact My Lawyer With The Details Below

Barr. Clancy George
Email: [email protected]
Tel: +447024012911,
Fax: +44 700 596 3645

I will advice you to contact my lawyer and call him on phone so he can begin the process immediately. Please click on attachment to see some copies of my pics, i really hope to hear from you.

God bless.
Mr. Ebony Jackson Jr.

The scammer included images at the end of this email, supposedly of himself. That is a lie. You can see these images I posted on this forum in connection to an entirely different scam last month. The image of the man seating at a small table using a laptop.

It has taken some time but the scammer has provided more of his script and fake documentation. The contact numbers indicated are:
00447031746630 or +447031746630
00447024012911 or +447024012911
00447005963645 or +447005963645
These contact numbers are part of a free UK redirect anywhere telephone service. If you call these numbers, the person picking up the call could be anywhere in the world, in this case South Africa. The IP in the header details 41.112.173.76 also points to South Africa, though the scammer is trying his best to give the impression that he is in London.
