Hello scottishere99!

Yes it's true the Yahoo mail protocol NNFMP is associated with scammers and spammers but we cannot tell you for sure it's a scam just from the header. Can you post some of the emails too? This will allow us to give you better advice.

Justin

this is some of it i left out personal info like your site said to its some king of black mail and its wouldnt have even bothered me but they have my name ip adress city so i want to make sure and see if i need to go to the police

I have 2 birthdays coming up this month and mother's day is less than a month from now. The only thing you can do to get you out of this is help me with them. I want you to go to Amazon, buy a gift card for their gifts and email it to this address. The giftcard will be for $300 USD,
You will forward the receipts to me as well. If you don't have the money on your account, charge it on your card. I am telling you once right now, this is your only way out of this and I swear to God I will send all of the evidence I have this is your way to make it up. here is the link you will use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/gc/order-emai ... tries%2A=0
make the delivery date today. I am giving you 2 hours.
I used to work for a private security company, so we specialize in detective work. Your name is S, your IP is xx.xx.xx.xxx, your ISP xxxxxxxxxand you live in xx. usa It's amazing what basic IT skills and Google can help you accomplish

If its someone you do not know asking you for money then yes it's a scam. Did this start out telling you someone wants you killed and they were hired to do it but he wants to spare your life for a certain amount of money? Can you post the initial email they sent you?

Although he does appear to have a lot of info on you his threats are empty. He's more than likely contacting you from West Africa. By all means report it to the police if it would set you at ease. The likely hood of the scammer causing you any physical harm is VERY VERY unlikely. The scammer just uses the threats in order to steal money from you they would not make any money hurting you it's an empty threat.

Stop all communication with the scammer and do not send any money.

I received almost exactly the same email from Greg Jensen, his email is [email protected].

Can I ask what kind of profession you are in? I think this piece of information would be helpful in determining whether or not we should report this person to the police.

I am currently in the process of trying to get this guy to stop harassing me.

What he is trying to do is called extortion, and it is a felony offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

scottishere99,
It sounds like a blackmail threat of some kind. If you haven't done anything wrong I would report
this to the police if they have a ciber crimes division or the FBI. :)

removed spam link.

It also sounds like a blackmail scam I recently read about in which the scammer befriends a Man by pretending to be a Woman then record them on webcam doing certain things and then threatening to share the video on youtube or with facebook friends of the victim or any other place that would make the victim look bad to Family Friends Employers and anyone else they think would want to see it AFTER the victim send any money be it big or small the scammer then claims to delete or get rid of the so called evidence and they usually demand payment in a few hours or they threaten to expose the victim.

If You Don't Stand For Something Then you Will Fall For Anything.

Not Sure Who You Are Talking To Spokeo.Com do a people search on them.
