Has someone offered you a huge sum of money or a valuable consignment? It's a 419 or advance fee fraud - find out how they work, and what to do to be safe.

A good point Souliman. Scammers are a Worldwide problem - and many victims do not know English.

It is always better to do something - perhaps use an on-line translator.

Keep the sentences short and to the point.

I have warned a visitor in portuguese by translation to good effect.

Also a link to Scamwarners would be preferable, rather than they perhaps be ill or poorly advised.

thanks for the advice enchantress.

i was planning to post something advising her to visit this site, but now the yahoo question is marked as 'resolved', so i can't post in the thread she started.
i don't think i can contact her direct either, but that could be wrong - i'm not familiar with yahoo.
