are the scammers organised criminals?

the 419 nigerian scammers usually are part of organised crime i believe....my brother has given his scammers my home address my phone number details of family memebrs ,bank account details etc....would this mean that he has placed me at considerable risk?

the detaills were given via yahoo messenger...so no email headers
