This type of scam mail, where it is suggested that the recipient of the email stands as 'next-of-kin' to a deceased person, is more frequently sent by a fake lawyer or a fake banker. This one, however, claims to have been sent by a scientist. It was not sent by a scientist; like those pretending to be sent from a lawyer or banker, it was sent by a scammer. The $15 million do not exist. The scammer will state that some type of fees or other payment will need to be paid before the money is transferred. But no money will ever be transferred, as the money - and the story about the marine - is fictional.
