Welcome, jimmwrcin

IF...her story is that she is an orphan whose parents were 'killed by rebels' . . that her father was an important man & she has lots of money from him that she needs your help in claiming .... &IF there is a pastor or reverend or priest who you must contact .... IF she wants you to apply to her bank (pretending to be her fiance/boyfriend/beneficiary) to enable the money to be cleared - - then YES,IT IS A SCAM!!

Please post any emails/phone numbers/photos you have received from her & we will be able to advise you better.

My worry is that you didn't mention the cash part of the mail to you Jimm, which makes me worry that you believe the story.

If she really were in a refugee camp then she would be surrounded by aid workers who would be able to assist her in her plans. The chances that this person is female is quite unlikely, and even less likely that they are in a refugee camp. If the scammer needs a female voice to use then they usually get a relative to stand in for them.

This is a version I have received, which may be from a different set of scammers

Dear my love,
I am more than happy in your reply to my mail, I hope that all is well and fine with you including your health and work. My name is Miss Mercy Kassala and I am 23 years old, single and never been married, I am from Sudan in Africa but now living in a church missionary here in Senegal, where I contradict as asylum because of political civil war that took place in my country. I am suffering and in pains here in the camp and I really need assistance from the right, encouraging and useful tips in life to help me get out of this situation.

My late father, Dr. Ellison Kassala, which has been Chief Executive Officer (ELLISON INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY COMPANY PLC), in Port Sudan. During the war, rebels loyal to one of the greedy business partner of my late father attacked our house one early morning and killed my mother and father in cold blood. am the only one living now and I managed to make my way to this country of Senegal through the UN army, where I am living now in the mission, led by Reverend Father, I used an office computer to send
You this letter and I only enter his office, when he was less busy in his office. I would like to know more about you, things you like, and things you dont like, your hobbies and what you are doing now, I want to meet understanding, faithful, sincere, truthful, kind and friendly, and indeed, a man of vision and truth. I will tell you more about myself in my next post.Attached here is my picture, am hoping to hear from you again.
I remain yours,
Mercy.

Obviously I've added the lettering to make the picture unusable by any scammer visiting the forum.

This may not be the same scam mail that you received, but scammers don't have much imagination and it's quite likely that the background story is similar.

The first time we met, she wrote me a private message on "doctissimo.fr"
I replied and told her trhat I should help her.
I informed her that I lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Her name is Miss Doris Lovina Kassala, she sent me a picture, I see the same face somewhere here in the forum but and the one just is her face but I do not see the same picture anywhere in the forum.
She really lives in Senegal but I do not know how she is.
Her phone number is: +221766818195. It is a mobile phone number.
If you try to call, a woman will reply.
The mobile phone number of the reverent is: +221764930262.
I believe she is a girl who need help because till now, I do not really see the reason you try to convince me that she is a scammer.
If only the picture was used by a scammer, how does a woman answer me? And who is really the girl on the picture? Think about UNICEF working in this world please and do not forget charity.
She tried to ask me contacting a certain Mr. Peter Sand who work in a Bank in Sudan, I contacted this man and He answered me telling me that I should have a power of attorney and affidavit wich will allow me transferring her father's money in my Bank account.
I told her that this service would be little difficult for me but I need her to come first and meet me in my country.
I am about to pay a passport wich will allow her leaving Senegal.
Her mail adress is "[email protected]".
In spite of all, I think that if really it is scam, you should try to explain me this reality because sometime, she can contact lot of person to see who will help her first.
Please, I need to understand this reality.

If really she is a scammer, who is the woman I had a conversation with on phone?
Who is the owner's picture please?
Where did he find them?
Please, I need explanation.
Tell me more about experience you had with her please.
Is there anyone who tried to help her please?
I need your explanation please and who are the owner's phone numbers please?

Yours truly

I need your urgent reply please because I am now about to make herr come in Democratic Republic of Congo to meet with me.
I think I can get her passport next week.
Do you know more about her please?
She's a Dr. Ellison Kassala son.
I never support to hear that someone is suffering and keep quiet when I can do something.
Would you please tell me more about her?
Where do pictures come from please? They are a lot and nobody can get this number of picture without knowing their owner.

The woman you spoke to on the phone could be the wife/girlfriend/a female accomplice of the scammer . . . but she is NOT the girl in the photos! Whoever she is, she is NOT a poor, orphaned refugee in a camp in Sudan

The photos are usually stolen from modelling sites, social networking sites or other places on the internet - or they could be (again) the girlfriend etc. of the scammer.

She tried to ask me contacting a certain Mr. Peter Sand who work in a Bank in Sudan, I contacted this man and He answered me telling me that I should have a power of attorney and affidavit wich will allow me transferring her father's money in my Bank account.

How do you KNOW he is working for a bank? HE IS NOT!! HE is the scammer or one of the gang! Again, how do you know there is "her father's money"? Because she or he told you??

THERE IS NO MONEY!!

You are now considering sending her money for a passport so that she can come to you? SHE WILL NOT ARRIVE! You will send money by Western Union or Moneygram, the scammer will collect it ... you will NEVER meet because all they want is YOUR money. You will also be asked to pay fees for 'Power of Attorney' - maybe 'Lawyers (or Barristers) fees', commissions, bribes, customs fees (etc, etc).

BUT you will NEVER see any of this money they talk about . . . BECAUSE IT DOES NOT EXIST! All you will have done is send money to a criminal gang.
Just do a Google search for 'senegal refugee scams' - there are so many instances & stories similar to the one you have received.

Again, Google search the phone number you posted (+221766818195) - it is listed as a number used in scams! We can not all be wrong about this.....IT IS A WELL KNOWN SCAM!

If you do not believe us then sadly, there is little we can do to stop you losing your money!

Edit to add: Please post her pictures - we may be able to identify the source of them. Also, please post any of the emails you got from "her".

Edited again: Is this the story you got from her?

My late father Dr. David Ellison Kassala, who was CEO of (ELLISON TECHNICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPANY PLC), in Port Sudan in Sudan. During the war, the rebel loyal to one of the greedy business associate of my late father attacked our house one early morning and killed my mother and father in a cold blood. It is only me that is alive now and i managed to make my way to this country Senegal by the help of UN army where i am living now the missionary, headed by a Reverend Father

If so, it is posted on MANY anti-scam sites - including here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2045
Just do a Google search for Dr. Ellison Kassala.

Finnaly, at the end of all, I think that I must help someone in the world because google also does not give me anything about her.
I do not know sometime she is swindle, drug trader or something else but I decide to help the girl I heared on phone.
I believe my phone can not lie me.
I asked you if someone had experience with her but you only all say that you only received her mail and nothing else.
Is there anyone who tried help her? Nobody did.
I heard a woman on my phone, my phone can not lie me, I decide to try help her.
I gave you all the phone numbers and noone here could tell me who is the owner of the phone number.
Bye,
I remain yours and I shall try to tell you a more about my experience with her after the honey moon.
Bye.

I take the risk.
by Ralph Tue Mar 23, 2010 8:41 am
Hi Karim

There will be no honeymoon and the only person you are helping is a scammer so he can have more money to scam others.

The others here have aleady told you it is a scam but you want to believe the girl is real.

The person you spoke to on the phone is a scammer's accomplice.

The person in the pictures has her pictures posted on the net and had them stolen.

You tell us that you believe pictures and voices, take a look through our romance forum and you will see many pictures, all stolen from the net.

Phone calls, look through the various scam email we have posted and see how many of them include a phone number.

Look at the Refugee scams scattered through the romance forum and see how many of their stories match what you have been through so far.

If you really want to help somebody, donate money to a local charity and do not send you money to a known scammer who will use your money to scam somebody else.

If you really want to help people in need, help those who really need it.

Or perhaps you are really focused on the money, if so you once again will be disappointed, it does not exist, have you seen this money, have you seen this girl with your own eyes or do you only trust pictures and voices.

If you will only believe voices, we have a Warner from Norway who may be able to phone you if you will believe us then, just let us know which is the best language for you and we can make sure we have somebody talk to you in your native language.

I shall try to tell you a more about my experience with her after the honey moon.
Bye.

All you will be able to tell us is that you lost money, that we were right & "she" does not exist/did not arrive . . . :(

BUT if you still believe that you are helping a poor orphaned refugee & you will not face the facts presented to you, then so be it!

There is no way we can tell you who's phone number it is - the phone does not lie, just the person on the other end of it!! The man in the 'Bank', the female voice you heard . . . THEY are the liars!!

At least we tried to make you see that you are being scammed - but you refuse to see the truth!! :(

jimmwrcin wrote:I take the risk.

You aren't taking a risk. "Risk" implies more than one outcome. ?Here there is no chance whatsoever that the emails are genuine. You came here for our expert opinion, but seem determined to ignore it. Would you go to a doctor, ignore his advice, and tell him he was wrong?
You will never marry "her" or even met "her", because "she" is a scammer who will be sending identical emails to many other potential victims.
You will find this out eventually, and I hope you won't have lost too much money before you realise the truth.

Sometime, the person in Norway can tell me more about it.
My native language is French and my mobile phone numbers are

I have saved your numbers so we can get a warner to contact you and removed them from your post.

Please be patient while we organise somebody to talk to you - Ralph
