Hello,

A relative of mine has been scammed by several scam artists working together, getting money out of him over the course of 2 years. After one scammer has been exposed, another one takes over, to supposedly help him recover his money. This is the latest iteration of the scam emails. The problem is, my relative believes this guy is helping him, and is coming all the way to London to meet the scammer, to pass him the money to get him to help release his funds.

The email is as follows:

Dear Sir,

My name is Patrick Thomas, I work as a Security Guard with City Bank, at there SPECIAL BRANCH, here in London, I am contacting you in respect of a Luggage moved from our Vault to our affiliated storage, also here in London, the name of the Storage is ABC Storage, and it is situated in GREENWICH, normally every Luggage moved from us to this storage, are those that there beneficiary have one problem or the other to take there delivery, hence, they are taken there for SAFETY & SECURITY reason, pending when it would be confiscated.

I am contacting you to help myself by helping you, you see I have been working for this company for over twenty years, with virtually nothing to show for my hard work, I am hardly able to take care of my family with my monthly wages, as a matter of fact, my wife have to work to support the family, so I see this situation, a very good opportunity for me to make money, and I intend to grab it with both hands.

Furthermore, as I have said earlier, the CONTENT of the luggage, would eventually be confiscated after a while, and I know you must have invested a lot into it, hence, why I am contacting you, to inform you, that by virtue of my position as the head of security at the vault, I can get the Luggage out, but I will need your assistance, to be able to do so successfully.

But before we go any further, I need you to confirm that you are aware of what I am talking about, and that you are willing to know how I intend to help you, then I will update you with my plan.
Regards.

P. Thomas.

Does anyone have any advice about how I stop him from meeting this guy tomorrow? I've been told by the police to contact them today to request a plainsclothes police detailing for the meeting tomorrow. Does anyone have any further advice? I'm worried for his safety!
