Hello everybody

I have come across an interesting fellow. He goes by the name of 'Peter Williams' (his name most likely a pseudonym, a pseudonym which possible includes his facebook photo) and has a facebook account under the same name (Peter Williams). (I shall include screenshots of his account plus the scam proposal he sent me).

I am no way affiliated with this man nor do I have any mutual friends with him. I am not even Indonesian, I cannot speak Indonesian, nor am I affiliated with any human being from Indonesia ( a completely unsolicited approach to me).

Have a look at his screenshots. I have good reason to believe he is a scammer. What does everyone else think.

PS. His email address doesnt accept incoming emails as of 1/11/2013. Most likely if he hasnt been busted by the police he will go under another pseudonym!

Those are standard African scammer messages.

The profile itself could be a fake set up by the scammer, or it could be a real profile that was abandoned by the real owner years ago, and was hacked or phished and sold to the scammer. Either way, it means that there is now a scammer calling himself Peter Williams and using the email address [email protected]

There's a phrase in the email that I've seen only in the writing of West African scammers. Please post the emails in plain text in this thread so that possible victims can search for phrases in the email.

Yes. Scam. You will be in the middle of some kind of money transfer, with instructions to forward money by Western Union or MoneyGram, after keeping a small portion for yourself. The victims or police can't find him, but everybody can find you.
