On Nov 18, 2013 a friend was contacted through Facebook by Shaun Smith Barry stating he worked in Justice Dept-Washington DC the past 27 years and that she won a contest prize of 650,000. Shaun also stated he graduated from Oxford in England giving him International status as a lawyer and advocate to qualify him to be sent by Washington DC law firm (he used to work for) to represent Oscar Pistorius for his murder trial in Pretoria, South Africa so he went there in March 2014. I don't know the timeline of his stories but from November until present and its still ongoing...Shaun has told my friend that he uses many alias names because he is also an undercover FBI agent, has had all his bank accounts frozen because of him falling in love with her since emailing her about the contest so his love for her created a conflict of interest to President Obama and jepordized his financial status, (her fault) and the Pistorius judge doesn't allow the lawyers to have cell phones or divulge their real name to anybody. Shaun also stated his law license hasn't been renewed for 20 years, but for the past 27 years he was a lawyer in the Obama administration & for the justice dept in DC. He admits using identities of his dead friends- since he also is an FBI agent and cant reveal his identity, has no living family except a son, supports orphanages in Africa because his wealthy family, before they all died, were heavy into philanthropy. He plans to marry my friend and they will be very very rich since currently has a mansion in Baltimore, MD filled with servants, a baltimore secretary who mails packages of brand new baby clothes with OSH KOSH and other name brand tags... to my friend and the secretary goes by R. Brasco, Baltimore MD. Thats whats on the credit card receipts of the brand new baby clothes Brasco mails to my friend so she can mail them to Africa. I never asked why the sec doesnt mail them directly but Im sure its another BS story. I mostly asked her whose name is on the receipt and are they paid by credit card and they are, in the name of R Brasco. Shaun also told my friend, as an undercover agent for the FBI - he uses Americans to help catch Nicaraguan criminals (so he had her wire a few thousand dollars by Western Union to Nigeria) and also of course he fell madly in love with my friend, after a few email exchanges and he wants to marry her and always calls her his Queen and his wife. I think this is where he got the power over her so fast by using the romantic terms. He only corresponds to her by facebook message or IM yahoo messenger, never phone or email or letters, always IM chat. He told her, as soon as he heard her name, he knew he loved her. My friend has also sent Shaun a few thousand dollars worth of open airplane tickets, that allow name changes, but he has never flown to meet her here in the USA. My friend stated Shaun told her he was an agent of the US Treasury Dept and changed the story from a contest winning to really being a 650,000 inheritance from her grandmother who bought stock in her name and it has continued to grow to this amount. He first told her she won 650,000 in a government contest given away by Obama but since he loved her, Obama froze all his assets in a conflict of interest. Shaun first told her the money could be delivered for a 10% fee of 65,000 or for her to pay wire transfers of I think 1500, so my friend could see what a better deal it was to pay the wire transfers...she has never gotten the money though...my friend opened various bank of accounts and today a debit (not a deposit) of 880,000 us dollars was attempted to be subtracted out of her account so B of A closed the account. My friend said they told her they closed the account since she used to work there and was a digruntled ex employee. So now my friend is deceiving herself. I thought for sure that would wake her up but sadly, It somehow caused her to brainwash herself. Or she was just lying to me. Im surprised the bank didn't send the police to her house or contact her about the wire fraud. I mean its almost a million dollars for gods sake. Shaun was supposed to fly to meet her from Africa to the USA last night and today but he notified her since the bank closed the account he is forbidden to get on the plane by Obama, so she has to pay the wire transfer fees again. This also happened a few months ago and he blamed it on the gate agent not accepting the type of ticket she bought, so she had to send more money and she bought another air ticket a couple thousand buck ticket. My friend isn't rich- she is using up all her savings to help this guy and convincing her husband to give her some money for him too and she will share the inheritance with him and give him a divorce. Im also surprised her husband believes it too.

R Brasco, the secretary, sends baby clothes to my friend and Shaun requests that she remove tags, repackage them and take pictures of every single item. She mails all the merchandise back to him in Africa so he can give them to the orphanages there. She did think the pic taking was odd but I assume its so he can sell them on ebay.
My friend makes up continuous excuses for why this is happening and why the stories change and blend together and turn into different stories. She defends him heavily and agrees that Obama is making all these rules so hard for her and for Shaun and states how everyone is not a criminal and she trusts him so I am just shocked at how women fall for this and continue to send money to someone they have no idea what he looks like, where he lives, or what his actual name is and why he hasnt 1 penny to his name when he supposedly has 3 careers and a mansion with servants. Its probably the worst dating romance scam I have ever heard of and it is also is a first because it includes every single scam I have read about....Wire fraud, advance fee fraud, identity theft, falling in love after 3 emails, sending stolen merchandise bought on others credit cards into the USA to be repackaged and sent back to Nicaragua for sales, inheiritance scam and contest scam. I even pointed out all the discrepancies in his story like how did he graduate from Oxford when he just told you that Shaun Smith Barry is the name of a dead friend (who is on the alumni page for oxford law). Somehow my friend comes up with excuse after excuse even sometimes blaming it on Obama and how its Obama's contest rules and not Shaun's. The guy takes zero responsibility for anything and blames it all on the airlines, the bank, the us treasury dept, obama, the judge sequestering all the lawyers and freezing their assets. Its just bizarre to me that my friend is so gullible and naive. I wanted to try to include every detail I have been told, in case any similar woman has encountered this guy and any of this sounds familiar. He even has set up phone calls so that she has received calls from the FBI, the Justice Dept, the US Treasury, and I forgot who else but they all verify his story. Oh and he had his fake son call her which somehow she found out he used a last name of Berkhimer. The only story he hasn't used on her yet was that he or his fake son has been in a horrific accident and needs money. My friend found 2 women who posted on facebook that he was a fraud and she talked to one but felt she was just disgruntled because she refused to pay the fees and didn't get her contest winnings.
I did warn my friend about being a participant in wire fraud, counterfeit bank transfers, identify theft, dealing in stolen merchandise but she doesn't care. Its a chance for love for her because her husband is mean to her and cheats on her so she finally found a man (with no name or identity) who loves her and she can be happy. Ive been really sick to my stomach over this and I am just shocked at how scary and disgusting it is. There is nothing anyone can do but I did want to post it here in case anyone gets contacted by him using these same type of story lines or starts calling you his queen.
