That certainly sounds like a typical scam - especially in terms of the phasing and grammar. Steer clear!

Would be useful if you could post the email address and the email headers for some more detail, and so that anyone searching for the email address will end up here

Nobody in Nigeria, or anywhere else in the world is going to give away cash to some stranger. Especially in large amounts. Heck, Nigeria has more problems feeding its own hungry people, and its own corrupt government, it can't afford to be giving money away to strangers.

The only thing they want are people that they can take advantage of. Delete the email and do not reply to this scammer.

The old " long over due payment " scam . That scams been running for years . There is no money for you . Only an ever increasing string of fake fees and fake legal expenses .
