Any help would be much appreciated here.

I've been receiving emails for the past couple of weeks (usually they come in groups of 3-5 almost identical emails every 2-3 days). I easily found out these were part of a common email phishing scam claiming to have hacked your computer and/or email address, claiming to have recorded you at porn sites, etc... and demanding bitcoin within 48 hours.

I've changed all passwords and have run 4 different malware and antivirus programs, none of which found anything.

Today, however, I received a variation on the previous emails that seems more strange. Like the previous emails, it claims to have hacked my account and to have sent the message from it. Previously all the scam emails simply showed my email address in the "from" line; this one, however, actually has my full first and last name in the "from" line. Also, unlike the others, this email doesn't list the password it claims to have. Also, it claims to be from a specified "darknet" user. It further claims that changing my passwords is futile because the alleged malware installed can even give the scammer my changed passwords. I'm sure it's still a scam, but unlike the previous emails, I have been unable to find any online info related to others receiving ones with the exact format I did today

It was just that some of the slight variations on the previous scam emails (and the fact that I found no identically reported ones with that same wording anywhere online), kind of had me nervous for a second - especially that it had my full name in the "from" line rather than just the email address (and I have my own domain & email, not using web-based free email like gmail, yahoo, hotmail).

It's weird how I never got these until about two weeks ago. Now they won't stop.

Damn. I never thought of that. Whois.net just shows my registrar, but if you go to my registrar's own internal "whois", it shows lots of detail. Guess I should have paid for the "private registration". D'oh! I can still upgrade to it.
