So, I’ve been chatting with a man who supposedly works offshore, I even hit the video button to see if he was who he said. He did match his pictures. However....he gave me this email [email protected] and said it’s a bank that he needs my help to activate an account. Then he says I have to pay $1700.00 to activate it and I’ll have access to the money he puts in it. I call bs. I have never had to pay to activate an account but I have no idea how this works overseas. (Even if I had the money I wouldn’t do it). I just want to know if this is the scam it seems to be. Thanks

Definitely a scam. Send him $1700 and that's the last you hear from him. Even if there is such a requirement, why doesn't he use his own money for the purpose?
You can't trust anyone you meet online with your money.

There's no such thing as "paying to activate an account". Just delete and ignore the emails. Also - videos can be faked as well, so even though you think the video matches the pictures, it's not the real person.
