Hi Robert,

Welcome to Scamwarners

As The Enchantress suggests, I cant find any evidence of the company being fraudulent, even so, it is very common for scammers to use the information and websites of legitimate companies to make their scams look more realists.

Perhaps the best known example of this would be "The Microsoft Loettery" of course there is no such thing and most popel will recognise an email from Microsoft as a scam immediately, for tha treason, scanners wil ltry to piggy back otehr sites.

If you could please post up the emails or any otehr details from this scammer, we may be able to provide more information for you.

Hi Robert and welcome.

Cergas Oil is being used in a debt collection scam. In response to your other post, The Enchantress posted a link to the thread here at ScamWarners. It is here: viewtopic.php?p=7051

There is a fraudulent Cergas Oil site set up for this fake company. Site killers have reported it to its hoster for fraud but we have not yet been able to get it shut down.

The fraudulent site is http://www.cergasoil.com/ It has an entry in the Artists Against 419 (aa419.org) Database of fraudulent sites here: http://db.aa419.org/fakebanksview.php?key=33357

There may be a legitimate Cergas Oil out there somewhere, but the email about debt collection you have received, and any reference to the above website, is attempted fraud.

Here is a copy of a scam email another attorney shared with me regarding this fraud:
