Check Scams, Debt Collection scams and other financial scams.

This is not usually the type of scam that we deal with here at Scamwarners but it is worth mentioning. The purpose of the scam here is to steal the victims credit card details. One of my colleagues will correct me if I'm wrong. The victim would feel compelled to telephone the contact number provided in order to dispute the charge. They would be prompted to "verify" their card details. This is the point where the victim would hand over their credit card details to the criminals. The email never mentions the credit card holders name and let's face it how would a legitimate merchant know your email address anyway.

You're not wrong.
The phone number seems to be a French freephone number. Probably easy enough to get one with false ID as the scammer has one. And paid for with a stolen credit card.
