Car Warranty Scam

Here is a scam that I feel is warranted to be mentioned here. It is not a new scam, but it is showing up in many mailboxes, including mine three times so far. My tip off that it is a scam is the way the post card is worded, and it also contained the words "your extended vehicle warranty is about to expire."

I didn't purchase an extended warranty with my car.

Not all extended warantee's are scams. Ford/GM/Chrysler all will sell you one on your new car any time before the "standard" one expires. While we can argue if it makes financial sense, it is not a scam.

On the other hand the ones you are talking about certainly ARE scams.
