I recently applied for a loan through somebody called DestinyKingsFincance. Now after searching online im nt finding much, indicating its a scam or its not a scam. I am hoping to borrow $6000 from DestinyKingsFinance but he wants me to send $200 first for a C.O.W.T fee to send it from my bank to his where he is in nigeria. Now he seems to know how Electronic fudns transfers work because he says once i send him the $200 the $6000 loan will show up in my bank account (I have already provided him with my bank accoutn details). Should i proceed to send him this $200? It almost seems to good to be true. Here is the email he sent me in response.

Hello

Before I fully say Congratulations finally,I just arrived at the bank now were I went to place the deposition of the loan amount of 6,000,00 USD you requested from my company.
So they are asking for 200$,I told you before for C.O.W.T for them to work on the transfer of your loan immediately after they get the money for the C.O.W.T fee they will start the processing of your loan immediately without no further delay.
And it takes 2 to 3 hours for the loan to reflect in your account once the receive the money for the C.O.W.T

So I am with the bank now and I will like you to quickly get back to me as soon as possible to know how to proceed

Thank you Destiny kings

It is definitely a scam - for starters, no legitimate business would use a free email address such as [email protected].

Then there is the fact that no one who is not registered with your country's financial regulators would be allowed to offer loans and if they were, they would transact the business in your country and not involve a third country in the business.

Finally, there is the requirement to pay a fee to get your money. I don't have a clue what a C.O.W.T fee is meant to be, but in virtually every country it is illegal to charge a fee for a loan and where it is allowed, the fee is added to the amount borrowed.

Just delete the emails and block him. Don't tell him you know it is a scam as he will only deny it.

Finally, if you can't get a loan from a proper lender in your country then don't bother looking - anyone who offers you a loan is either going to be an illegal loan shark or a scammer.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
